Knit polos

Produksee manufactures knit polo shirts in Indonesia — short-sleeve styles with contrast tipped collars, striped jacquard bodies and button plackets. Collars are knitted separately and linked to the body, giving a flat, structured edge for export and domestic fashion brands.

The problem

A knit polo is where the factory's collar work is on public display. Tipping, striping, and placket alignment all have to land within a millimetre of each other on a piece the wearer sees in the mirror every time they put it on.

Construction

What we control on a polo

Collar tipping

The contrast stripes at collar and cuff have to register with each other across the whole garment. They are knitted in, not applied.

Placket squareness

Placket and collar meet at the most visible point on the garment. We measure the join on every size in the grade, not just the sample size.

Stripe matching

On a striped body, front and back and both sleeves must meet at the seam. Panel placement is set at the knitting stage, which is the only stage where it is free.

Collar stand

Knitted separately at a firmer tension so it stands rather than collapses, then linked to the body rather than sewn on.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Can you match a specific stripe width and colour placement?

Yes — send a physical reference where possible. Stripe proportion reads differently on screen and in yarn, and it is cheaper to correct at counter-sample than after bulk knitting.

Do you produce both men's and women's blocks?

Yes. The samples on this page include both. They are separate blocks, sampled separately.

Is a knitted collar more expensive than a woven one?

Per piece, usually yes — it is a separately knitted component that has to be linked. It is also the reason a knit polo reads as a knit polo rather than a t-shirt with a collar sewn on.
