Zip-up knit jackets
Produksee manufactures zip-up knit jackets in Indonesia — full-zip styles with high or funnel necks in fine to mid gauge. Zip tape attachment on knitted fabric requires stabilised bands to prevent waving, handled in-house for export and domestic fashion brands.
The problem
Putting a zip into a knitted garment is a structural problem, not a trim problem. A zip is rigid and the fabric around it is not, so unless the band is stabilised properly the front waves — and a waving zip is the single most common reason a knitted jacket gets rejected at inspection.

What we control on a zipped knit
Band stabilisation
The knitted band that carries the zip is tape-stabilised so a rigid trim and an elastic fabric can share an edge without one distorting the other.
Zip length vs. relaxed length
The zip is specified against the relaxed band length. Specify it against the pattern length and every jacket in the run comes out short or waved.
Funnel neck stand
A high neck has to stand up under its own weight with a zip running through it. Tension is firmer here than anywhere else in the garment.
Puller and trim finish
Metal hardware against a pale knit shows every mark. Hardware finish is confirmed against the actual yarn colour at sampling.

Do you use nominated zip suppliers?
Yes, if you have one. Otherwise we source and present options at sampling — the zip is a structural component here, so it is worth choosing rather than defaulting.
Can you produce two-way zips?
Yes. Two-way zips add stress at the base of the band, so the stabilisation spec changes — confirm it at sampling.
Is a zipped knit more expensive than a button cardigan?
Generally yes, because of the stabilisation work and the trim cost. The difference is in the finishing time, not the knitting.

Knit cardigans
A cardigan is judged at the button band. It carries the wearer's eye, it takes the most handling, and it is the first place a badly balanced knit shows itself — the band ripples, the fronts hang unevenly, and the garment looks cheap before anyone has read the label.

Knit tops
Pointelle and open-stitch fabrics are the hardest thing in a knitwear range to keep consistent. The holes are deliberate, which means every irregularity reads as a fault rather than as texture — and blocking, not knitting, is where they are won or lost.
Knit skirts
A knitted skirt has one job that a knitted top never has: it must not grow. Gravity works on a vertical panel all day, and a rib that recovers beautifully at the cuff of a sweater will let a skirt drop two centimetres by the afternoon.
Custom & jacquard knitwear
In a jacquard, the pattern is not printed onto the garment — it is the garment. The colour changes are structural, which is why a jacquard cannot be corrected after knitting and why the swatch stage is where the money is actually spent.
